The Michigan State Women's team won tonight as well and are now in the Elite 8. It would be cool if both the men's and women's teams could win the title in the same year. Only UConn has ever done that.
Okay okay so here we go. It's Louiseville vs. Illinois and Michigan State vs. North Carolina. Who are your favorites?
I'd like Illinois and Michigan State win this round and go on to the finals.
First time in 100 years they'll be in the finals.
Now to see who wins between NC and Mich. State. Everyone thinks NC is going to win. I want Michigan State.

I know! But they are a really good team. They just seem to have great heart.
I know it's against the odds but if they're really on, they can do it!
They hung tough for a long time, but just couldn't get it done. Oh well, they gave it a really good effort.
At halftime when they were up I really thought they had a serious shot. I have no idea what the NC coach said to those guys but that second half showed some serious shooting under pressure. I was thoroughly frustrated with State's inability to capitalize on the turnovers.

So onto the finals...who's anyone's favorite?
I'd like to see Illinois win. They've got a really good team and it would be nice to see the Big 10 win.

Me too and I think they can win. It did strike me that they are a much more professional looking team than NC which has a more raw, man on man style but I do know it should be a good game. Illinois really sticks to the zone defense and they play beautifully as a team, wonderful passing.
Michigan State comes back from a 16 point deficit to beat Tennessee 68-64 and they now get to play for the National Championship on Tuesday night. That was a very exciting game and the MSU women showed a lot of guts and determination. I wonder if any of the members of the men's team were there to cheer them on.
