yep, I enjoy it quite a bit (most of the time), but it definitely takes a lot of work. I'm taking a break from checking papers now and am going to go back to them in a few minutes. Of course, I procrastinated all day before starting to check them, but that's another story 8)azianboi044 wrote:thar's awesome kurt, ur a teacher

I teach high school math, so I have 9th-12th graders. I used to teach 1 section of 7th grade math (almost 10 years ago now) and I also used to teach computers, which was basically a word processing, spreadsheet and database class. My college degree in computer science and my programming background have never really been used and I'm out of practice now. I enjoy math more anyway so it doesn't bother me.azianboi044 wrote:wat grade do u teach?
I have 1 section of Pre-Calculus, 2 sections of Algebra 2, 1 section of Basic Geometry, and 1 section of Algebra 1. The Pre-Calc is my favorite class by far since most of the kids in that class are the ones who work hard and try to get good grades.

I was just out of college actually. I graduated from Eastern Michigan in December 1991 and then started subbing at my alma mater (and Dave's) in January. The Chem teacher that I had had in high school was retiring in June, so he took every other week off to burn his vacation days. I ended up teaching that class about as often as he did during that second semester. It was cool, though, since I still remembered most of the stuff from when I was a student. I turned 22 right after I started subbing, so I wasn't that much older than the kids. I subbed for a few other classes as well, but not as often.
