Maybe it would be since it is Disney, but I thought it was fun. Plus, Vanessa Hudgens is pretty cute, even if she is only 17.

I watched Roll Bounce today and liked it quite a bit. It is a story about a group of kids growing up in 1978 who spend most of their time at the local roller skating rink. It shuts down and they end up venturing to the north side of town and the Sweetwater Roller Rink. The best known stars of the movie are probably Bow Wow, Chi McBride, and Nick Cannon. The music, roller skating and story were all a lot of fun.

I saw Monster House in 3D tonight and thought it was pretty good. The 3D animation worked well and there was a fairly simple, but fun story.

It was a preview screening at the MJR theater at 15 mile and Van Dyke. I don't know if all theaters are showing it in 3D or not, but we got nice glasses when we went in and the 3D was well done. The movie opens on Friday.

We just got our first IMAX theatre in Guatemala City. I can barely handle the big screen under normal circumstances so this is pretty exciting and daunting. Plus Pirates of the Carribean II ( I'm lazy) just got here yesterday so I guess I'll have to drag my sorry ass into the City for some movie watching. I still haven't seen Superman Returns either!

I haven't seen Pirates yet either. I"ve been planning on going to see it with a friend, but our plans keep falling through. Soon, hopefully.

I watched The Family Stone and I liked it. The movie had a number of strange characters with their own hangups, but it worked. The ending seemed a bit abrupt, but I guess they were running out of time and had to resolve everything.

I just saw eXistenZ last night which was insane. I think I'd need to see it again. I looked it up on IMBD after I saw it and it won three awards for sci fi fantasy films...but it was a crazy movie with Jude Law and Jennifer Jason Leigh.

The kid was at gymnastics camp all last week so we went to:

Clerks II - A masterpiece
My Super Ex Girlfriend - worth a matinee ticket
Lady in the Water - I liked it... corny but good
RV - better than I thought it would be
Thank you For Smoking - very good

I still want to see Monster House. I'd like to see that in 3D - I'll have to check around to see if any theatres in Calgary are showing in that format.
